Description

Groninger is very productive and uncomplicated in cultivation. Its florets are large and densely filled with a subtle tart, slightly nutty flavor. After the first frosts, this becomes even more flavorful. Medium-late, very vigorous variety. Grows up to 120 cm tall and roots deeply in the soil. On the stem develops 30 to 50 large florets. Good also for freezing. Long harvest period.

Non hybrid

Frostproof

Growing tips

Germination from 8°C, optimally at 20°C, after 10-14 days. The pre-grown plants should be planted until the first leaves appear. And Brussels sprouts should only be grown in the same place every three years. Crop protection nets help to protect against birds and insect pests. A mixed crop is effective against many insect pests and soil fungi (e.g. Brussels sprouts in the middle of potatoes: deters cabbage white butterflies and whiteflies). Harvest from the bottom up.
