Cauliflower Verde di Macerata is an old, medium-early variety from the central Italian province of the same name with very spectacular, beautiful and tasty bright green heads. The special feature of the green cauliflower from Macerata is not only its impressive color, but also its beautiful shape: the heads are rounder than the Roman cauliflower, which is more pointed. 'Verde di Macerata' develops heads of around 1-1.3 kg, framed by dark green, light veined outer leaves. Vigorous plant with broadly spaced leaves, large dense heads retain their color when cooked, particularly heat & drought resistant, rich in vitamins & minerals.

Sowing under glass from April, transplanting outdoors from June; directly outdoors from May to June, transplanting after approx. 4 weeks; for autumn cultivation, pre-breeding, planting by the end of July at the latest; other information suggests sowing from June to October with a harvest period from September to February. Germination temperature: from 8° C (20° C optimal); the later the harvest, the better the storage life. Do not harvest in frost.
