When harvesting, only ever cut off the outermost leaves 3 cm above the soil, then it will always grow back. Why is lettuce green and some lettuce red? Red lettuce has a high content of carotenes, folic acid and bitter substances, which have good detox properties. Chopped lettuce is ideal if only a few leaves are needed regularly for decorating or garnishing, as well as for burgers or sandwiches. Of course, it can also be added crisp and fresh to a bowl with other herbs to complement a delicious rocket salad or lamb's lettuce.

Anbautipps

Cut lettuce needs a light, semi-shady location indoors or outdoors and can be grown almost all year round. Do not water on the leaves, but at the root.
